The LA band Host Family makes a noisy version of indie pop that sounds like every cool underground band from the '80s put together. Their music probably made a lot of sense to audiences when they performed around town with acts like bar italia, Feeble Little Horse, and Mo Dotti. Host Family released their debut EP Extended Play last year, but it's getting an expanded vinyl release via Pleasure Tapes next months. Among the previously unreleased tracks is "Explain It To Me," a punchy, shapeshifting bit of fuzzed-out jangle-pop that lets vocalist Imogen Lolos cast a spell. Listen below.
Extended Play is out 2/24 on Pleasure Tapes.
