Charli XCX and Sky Ferreira make sense together like black leather and silver studs. Both are classic and bold in their own way, but together make something gorgeously edgy. Such was the case with industrial synth-pop gem "Cross You Out," the collaboration featured on Charli's third studio from 2019 Charli. Turns out we'll get to witness their potent pop powers come together once again. Charli has shared the full tracklist for the forthcoming soundtrack she made for Emerald Fennell's adaptation of literary classic Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Ferreira is listed as a featured artist on a track titled "Eyes Of The World."
The soundtrack was playing outside the TCL Chinese Theatre for its Hollywood premiere yesterday. Clips of it posted on social media reveal "Eyes Of The World" as a dark, lurching romantic ballad. "You're gonna love me like I'm already dead," Ferreira sings. Her voice is unwavering and heavy. Moments later, the song opens into a belt-heavy chorus. It sounds promising (and does not appear to be a Grateful Dead cover).
Ferreira's last music release was in 2024, contributing the original song "Leash" for the soundtrack of Halina Reijn's film Babygirl. Masochism, the follow-up to Ferreira's 2013 debut album Night Time, My Time, has long been in the works/teased/trapped in label purgatory. However, she has managed to share the singles "Don't Forget" in 2022 and "Downhill Lullaby" in 2019.
