Ransom, from NYC, and Boldy James, from Detroit, are two of the best, most prolific forces in underground rap. They're teaming up for a full-length project called Salvation For The Wicked, produced by Montreal's own Nicholas Craven, a frequent collaborator for both emcees. The whole thing's dropping a week from today, and in the meantime we have "Offerings," a rugged boom-bap track that shows off major chemistry between Ransom and Boldy. It fits right in with Boldy's affiliates Griselda, but it reminds me just as much of early Def Jux stuff from El-P and Cannibal Ox. Listen below.
