Last year, Jim O'Rourke and Eiko Ishibashi released five albums — one called Pareidolia and then four live albums. Despite all those live recordings, they don't perform very often, let alone tour. Their Oct. 11 appearance at Unsound Festival’s Kraków edition was a rare gig outside of Japan. So it's remarkable that today, they've announced an eight-show tour throughout the UK and Europe this April. Although this isn't a solo tour, it's O'Rourke's first tour in Europe since 2000.
In her tour announcement, Ishibashi writes, "After this run, there will also be a separate tour with Fennesz & Jim O’Rourke (I’ll be joining them for some dates as well) — more details on that soon." So look forward to that, and in the meantime check out the dates for the O'Rourke/Ishibashi tour below.
