Last month, PawPaw Rod released the dreamy, funk-infused single "The Get Back." Today, he shares another new song called "I Wish" and announces his debut album Picture Day. It was produced by Jeff Hazen, Nick Faraaro, and Nick Sylvester. The song has a bopping bass and speedy synths. Rod contemplates life unease: "I wish I could just snap my fingers I wish I could just make everything okay."
“I wrote ‘I Wish’ after my first headline tour,” PawPaw Rod said of the new track. “On stage, I was met with love and praise — off stage, I was grappling with heartbreak, loss, and the chaos of the world around me. Life was moving fast, and at the time, the fires in Los Angeles had just broken out, making everything feel heavier. But when life hits from all sides, there’s something deeply human in dancing through those moments. It’s a way of resisting hopelessness - a form of rebellion. In that moment, music becomes medicine, a universal gesture that says, ‘you’re not alone in this.’”

The release date for Picture Day has yet to be announced.
