Tom Jenkinson, the IDM veteran and scarf guy known as Squarepusher, is preparing to unleash his new album Kammerkonzert upon an unsuspecting world. He's billing it as his first foray into orchestral music. We posted the lead single "K2 Central," and now he has shared the playfully chaotic new track "K7 Museum."
"K7 Museum" sounds like exactly what was promised — Squarepusher's out-there, disorienting electronic production translated into something for the conservatory. It starts out with a funky riff that would've been perfectly at home on a '70s crime-movie soundtrack, and then it gradually squiggles outward into a berserk seven-minute prog-fusion instrumental.
