Iceage Announce New Album For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter: Hear “Ember”

Elias Rønnenfelt has kept himself busy since his band Iceage released their last album, 2021's Seek Shelter. But now he's back in action with the Danish post-punks: Last month they released the single "Star," of which we were big fans, and now we have confirmation that a full album is on the way. For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter is out in May, and another new single called "Ember" is out today.

Iceage recorded For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter at Silence Studio in remote, rural Sweden, the same studio where they recorded 2014's Plowing Into The Field Of Love. The band co-produced it with longtime collaborator Nis Bysted. Judging by what we've heard so far, it's a more polished version of Iceage, but they haven't totally censored the grimness even as Rønnenfelt yelps about being in love: "I love you in an ominous way," he proclaims on "Ember," the album's barnburner of an opener. "Are you willing to pay?/ Are you willing to break/ With all that’s layn before you/ Before you’re swept and breathless in the dirty ground?"
