Foo Fighters – “Of All People”

Elizabeth Miranda

"Of all people, you survived/ When no one else could stay alive/ You know you should be dead/ But you're alive instead." So begins "Of All People," the new Foo Fighters single. The band debuted it in a taping of the Irish TV show Other Voices back in February; the episode finally aired this week, meaning we finally have pro video of the performance. Now the studio version has emerged.

"Of All People" is the latest single from Foo Fighters' upcoming Your Favorite Toy, from which we've also heard "Asking For A Friend," the title track, and "Caught In The Echo." This one's one of those hard-charging rockers where Dave Grohl pulls some influence from his old pal Kurt. The Foos presumably need their new songs to keep audiences happy between the hits at their upcoming stadium tour, and I believe this one will get the job done.

Listen below.

Your Favorite Toy is out 4/24 on Roswell/RCA.
