Since the very beginning of Euphoria, Labrinth has provided the score. The controversial HBO drama returns tomorrow, and last month the British musician declared on social media, "Fuck Columbia. Double Fuck Euphoria. I'm out. Thank you and good night." Earlier this week the show's creator Sam Levinson addressed the issue for the first time in an interview with Rolling Stone, and now Labrinth is sharing more of his side of things.
When asked about what exactly happened, Levinson told the magazine, "I don't know," adding, "He's an incredible collaborator and someone who really built the foundation of the sound of Euphoria."
On his Instagram Story, Labrinth wrote today:
PEOPLE WILL COMFORTABLY LIE IN THIS INDUSTRY AND STILL CALL THEMSELVES HONEST PEOPLE
SO NO CAP
I DECIDED TO REMOVE WHAT EVER MUSIC I HAD IN IT
I SPOKE TO HBO AS FAR AS I KNOW WE ARE COOL
I LEFT BECAUSE
LAST TRUTH
WHEN I WORK FOR SOMEONE, THEIR VISION IS PARAMOUNT TO ME
BUT I DONT LET PEOPLE TREAT ME LIKE SHIT
The season three premiere's first five minutes are also online, and the clip features Rue (Zendaya) singing along to Christopher Cross' yacht rock classic "Ride Like The Wind" while she is apparently trafficking in Mexico. (It's a five-year time jump.) The episode screens at Coachella on Sunday.
