Philly underground fixtures Nyxy Nyx make a whole lot of music, and it's rarely completely clear whether that music is done or whether it's a work in progress. Last year, Nyxy Nyx released Cult Classics, Vol. 1, their first-ever studio LP, and they followed it with a self-titled record. This year Nyxy Nyx released "Devil Hands" and the Midwife collab "dreaming in Raincoats 2," and both of those tracks have since been taken down from their Bandcamp. Now, they've got another new Bandcamp joint out. Better listen quick, before it disappears.
On their Instagram story, Nyxy Nyx described their new track "Concerning Evil Spirits" as "like, half a song, just a demo really, but there's potential." The song is only two minutes long, but it sounds pretty complete to me. It's a spacious, dreamy reverie, with reverb all over the vocals, and it might be the prettiest thing that I've heard from them. Check it out below.
Nyxy Nyx also just shared a re-recorded version of "what do you know about hills?," a song from their 2023 album zxcv (ZXCV). They do stuff like that a lot.
