There are a lot of horse bands out there right now, but the experimental instrumental psych-rockers Horse Lords don't really belong to any wave. They exist within their own zone. Horse Lords started in Baltimore back in 2010, rising from the ashes of Teeth Mountain, but three of the four band members are now based in Berlin. Later this spring, they'll release their new album, which has the excellent title Demand To Be Taken To Heaven Alive!, and we've already posted a couple of tracks. Today, we get to hear another one.
Today, "Horse Lords" share the way-out single "First Galactic Utopia." It's built on a time signature that I am nowhere near smart enough to recognize, and its keyboards and guitars build into a wordless hands-to-the-sun statement. Alexander Stewart directed the abstract animated video, which you can watch below.
