The dreamy London rockers Whitelands are calling it quits. In an Instagram statement about their breakup, Whitelands don't cite any reason. Instead, they graciously thank their supporters.
Etienne Quartey-Papafio and Jagun Meseorisa started Whitelands in 2017, when both of them were teenagers, and they released their debut album Old News in 2018. The project became a full band after Vanessa Govinden and Michael Adelaja joined up. In 2024, Whitelands signed to Sonic Cathedral, toured with Slowdive, and released the album Night-bound Eyes Are Blind To The Day. Their album Sunlight Echoes came out earlier this year, and David Jonsson and Honor Swinton Byrne starred in their "Glance" video.
Whitelands seemed like they were still growing, and they had a lot of potential. Hopefully, the band members will move onto new projects. Below, check out Whitelands' annoucement and a couple of their tracks.
