In recent months, LA-based Lukas Frank's releases as Storefront Church have been limited to covers of songs by Sisters Of Mercy and Leonard Cohen. Now, he's given us his first new original tune since 2024's somewhat slept-on Ink & Oil. (Everybody who's missing Grizzly Bear and/or Radiohead should go back and listen to "Tapping On The Glass." Good lord.)
In a message to his Bandcamp followers, Frank says new single "Still Lying" is from a forthcoming EP. We don't have details on that release yet. We do have this music, which matches an electronic beat with ominous, violent guitar tones and intense howls and grunts from Frank. It's a fearless vocal performance, dynamic and a little frightening. Put it on at your local goth club this weekend this weekend and see if people don't freak.
