On Friday, Lola Young shared a new song, “From Down Here,” her first since releasing her hit album I’m Only F**king Myself. On Saturday, she sang it live for the first time at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Herrington Country Park.
The English artist wrote “From Down Here” with James Blake and his main collaborators on this year’s Trying Times — his partner, Jameela Jamil, and Dominic Maker of Mount Kimbie. (Blake, Jamil, and Maker co-produced the track.) Blake also performed at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, with his set immediately following Young’s. She also joined him for the Trying Times highlight “Make Something Up.” Also, Blake performed his cover of the Verve’s “The Drugs Don’t Work,” which he debuted on Live Lounge a couple of weeks ago.
