Phoebe Bridgers Announces New Album Lost Weekend

Phoebe Bridgers is finally back on the grid.

The massively popular and influential indie singer-songwriter spent the spring on a unique tour that managed to be hush-hush and a media sensation all at once: Starting in Roswell, she played intimate phone-free pop-up shows in small markets, each one announced with hours' notice, culminating in a $1 gig at Madison Square Garden earlier this month. The shows reportedly featured a lot of new songs, presumably from Bridgers' first solo album since 2020's Punisher. (In the years after, she had the massive album cycle, tour, and Grammy triumph for boygenius' The Record.)

The day after MSG, Bridgers announced an arena tour for later this year, which will also be phone-free. She later expanded the tour, and she announced that her Dead Oceans imprint Saddest Factory was being folded into the main label due to a trademark dispute over the Saddest Factory name. Unrelated to her recent musical ventures, she also appeared in the trailer for A24's To Catch A Predator movie Primetime. And now we finally have some official details about that new album we've been waiting on.

Lost Weekend, which somehow is only Bridgers' third solo album, will be out Aug. 14. Although the boygenius album came out on Interscope, this will be on Dead Oceans, the mega-indie that put out Punisher and Bridgers' debut Stranger In The Alps. She hasn't revealed the tracklist or any other information about Lost Weekend yet, but she will release the album's lead single Thursday.

Lost Weekend is out 8/14 on Dead Oceans.
