Holy Motors Announce New Album Heaven’s Night: Hear “Tough Crush”

In April, Holy Motors released the song "Heaven's Night," and now they're announcing a new album of the same title. Heaven's Night doesn't arrive until October, but Estonian band is sharing a preview today called "Tough Crush."

About the single, vocalist Eliann Tulve explains, "I saw a tough dancer at a party and developed a heavy crush on their moves. The night was slow & quiet, so we went on a drive. As we passed another CircleK on the road, I realized they’re a dry companion, and it’s time to go home. So is this heaven, is it something else?"

Heaven's Night, which follows 2020's Horse, is their first full-length recorded in Estonia. Guitarist Lauri Raus says, "Recording at Ö Stuudio in Tartu was like setting up in a pawn shop of dusty relics where we could turn the amps up loud. It would never open, serve after-hours, and of course swing senselessly between what's right and wrong in the process."

Tulve, Raus, and drummer Caspar Salo were joined by guitarist Ivar Mägi and multi-instrumentalist Villem Sarapuu to round out the band. Hear "Tough Crush" below.
