Earlier this week, Arca announced XXXXX, her first new album in almost five years. We won't have to wait long to hear the record, which comes out next week. Arca didn't share any singles with the announcement. Instead, she unveiled plans to debut new songs in a two-hour livestreamed performance. The set happened last night, and it wasn't like most livestreamed performances.
In last night's big livestream, Arca performed new tracks in seven distinct Barcelona locations, with Daniel Sannwald directing her. But she didn't exactly pull out an acoustic guitar in front of a live audience. Instead, these performances were essentially real-time music videos, with Arca doing different things — action painting one moment, operatic miming the next — while her tracks played over the screen. Since then, she has shared livestream clips that feature the new tracks "Fxck" and "Sueño," and you can see the spectacle for yourself below.
