Brooklyn-based Jacqui Miranda makes ethereal alt-pop under the moniker O Slow. She's been dropping singles for a few years now, and last year she released the EP Night Shine, Through Me. In September, we'll have her first full-length album, Antenna — and actually we have 22% of it now.
Earlier this summer, Miranda shared "Shine," a woozy dream-pop slow-creep that turned out to be an early preview from the LP. She's back today with details on the project and "No Body," the official lead single. After an initial blast of shoegazey melodic noise, Miranda bursts forth with a bright, elegant vocal hook. Her voice continues to mesmerize throughout, backed by an increasingly intense backing track. If Caroline Polachek teamed up with TAGABOW, the results would probably sound more zooted than this, but we'd be in the same ballpark.
