These Petey USA songs continue to impress. Peter Martin, who has carved out a niche as a TikTok comedian/content creator, is also a musical artist with a distinctive point of view and a knack for gargantuan hooks. I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've heard from the guy, and now he's got a whole new project out.
Throughout this year, Martin has been kicking out singles including "Kiss The City," "Like A Mantra," "Save For The Horses," and "I Will Do The Opposite." Friday, he doubled that total, releasing a new eight-song project titled oooo. As ever, the music finds Petey building electronic pop trappings over a hearty, emotive rock 'n' roll foundation — sort of like the Killers if they had more of a Warped Tour heritage. He's got a hell of a voice, strong and textured and expressive, and he uses it to unleash lyrics both memorable and deeply human. His production on this new batch of tracks is robust and full of fun surprises. If you like pop music that rocks hard and rock music that lets it all hang out, this guy may be for you.
