Artificial Brain have been making guttural but cosmic death metal for more than a decade, and they've been through a few different lineups over the years. Formerly an international band with a New York home base, Artificial Brain have set up shop in Richmond, Virginia, a global capital of heavy, intense underground music. Since the move, their lineup has come to include Inter Arma vocalist Mike Paparo and Battlemaster drummer Alex Tomlin. Today, they announce Antillia, their next album.
Antillia follows Artificial Brain's impressive 2022 self-titled album. Mike Pamparo and guitarist Dan Garguilo are also in a band called Dreamless Veil, and their album Every Limb Of The Flood came out in 2024. Antillia has guest appearances from Miasmatic Necrosis' Paulo Pangutalan, Aeviterne's Ian Jacyszyn, and Stereogum contributor Doug Moore. It also has a song called "Deciphering The Anachronistic Tongues Of The Relic Satellites," which is an extremely sick title. Lead single "Quantum Malignancies" is a compact but overwhelming thunderblast. Check it out below.
