PinkPantheress Wins Her First VMA, Remixes Tinashe

PinkPantheress is now the type of artist who wins MTV Video Music Awards, though not the kind where the actual awards get televised. Last night, PinkPantheress took home her first-ever moonman trophy, winning the non-broadcast Best Art Direction award for the "Stateside" remix with Zara Larsson. She was in the building for the ceremony, striking poses with peers like Charli XCX.

Also on Sunday, recent Stereogum Cover Story subject Tinashe released a bonus version of her excellent new album Popstar. That version, currently only available on iTunes, includes a PinkPantheress remix of the deep cut "Twentyfive Eight."

The combination of those two artists makes perfect sense, and it's been a long time coming. Last year, PinkPantheress named Tinashe as an artist who she'd like to produce.

At the American Music Awards in May, Tinashe said that she and PinkPantheress were collaborating. Also, PinkPantheress recently tweeted that Tinashe's "Crash Out" is her song of the year — a strong choice, honestly.

Even if the PinkPantheress remix isn't on streaming yet, we can at least hear a clip of it for now.

The remix went up on iTunes after last night's VMAs. Tinashe wasn't at the ceremony because she played All Things Go DC instead.
