The Hold Steady - The Weekenders Letterman Video Tall

"The Weekenders" has the awesome Craig Finn snap, "The theme of this party’s the industrial age’ / You came in dressed as a train wreck," among other memorable lines. Finn himself looked like he was continually impressed with his lyrics during their Friday appearance on Letterman:

"The Weekenders" did sound impressively crisp. But no one was more pleased with the performance than David Letterman, who couldn't stop gushing about the band as he closed out the show: "Mmmhmm. Mmmhmm. Mmmhmm. Just great. Just great. Beautiful. Just great. Thank you. Always a pleasure. Just great. These guys, what do you think? You know what I mean? Just great." As if you couldn't tell by their numerous appearances on Late Night, he's a big fan.

The band recently taped a SIRIUS XMU Session that will air May 12 at 9 p.m. Here's a teaser of the Hold Steady doing a tender acoustic version of "Hurricane J."
