Nina Nastasia's sixth album Outlaster arrives in June. Previously, we heard the Steve Albini-helmed collection's “You’re A Holy Man,” a song locating a sacred feel in its somber pace, drone-y cadences, and strings. The dramatic, ambitious "What's Out There" disrupts that atmosphere with the help of a small orchestra and, eventually, what sounds like a couple of typewriters. There's a lot packed into these four minutes -- the piece is gleefully exploding at the seams.
