One of our favorite discoveries this year -- and one of our bands to watch -- Malajube are soon to be in NYC as part of the CMJ Marathon. We are beyond psyched. Yeah we've worn grooves intothe stellar Trompe-L'oeil, but the band's Montreal-conquering stage shows were what we heard about first. Pitchfork helped today by unearthing a group of clips from the Polaris Prize-nominated record, keeping us nice and 'Jubed 'til their NYC debut. This is a versatile band -- sometimes with monsters (see below), sometimes in an animated, bubblegum-pop world (as in the clips for "Pate Filo" and "Montreal -40ºC") -- and we'll take 'em any which way they want.
