The other day Scott jokingly referred to Therapies Son as "the indie Shy Ronny." The extremely hushed vocals are an interesting aspect of the California project's sound, for sure. I'd also mention shy Tiny Tim. Pair that with the half-warping carnival instrumentation and there's something stranger and more damaged going here than with the usual school of shadowy one-man bands with images of"sun-dappled" water on their MySpace pages.
