It's fun to see all the Anderson Cooper lovers/haters come out of the woodwork every time he gets a 'Gum mention; probably something about the silver fox's steely blue eyes, or the amount of time he's spent in the closet. (Literally! Do you think the man chooses those excellent suits himself?) ANYWAY, in the wake of Hillary's disappointing choice for campaign theme song (Celine Dion, though we're surprised she didn't go with "Hillary Is In"), Anderson Cooper has made a similar call to the 360º faithful to help him choose a theme song for his full-circle election-season coverage. The submission session started a couple of weeks ago, but last night he said that the time was quickly approaching (while Frampton's "Show Me The Way" blared in the background). So, still time to stuff the ballot box! But if you wanna play, you gotta play by AC's rules:
Via the 360º blog:
Like you, we're huge Celine Dion fans. That goes without saying.
We were bummed to hear Hillary Clinton had picked "You and I" as her theme song, because we had been talking about using it as our theme for 360's presidential race coverage.
So in true Celine Dion fashion, we've picked ourselves up by our bootstraps and are heading back to the drawing board, but we need your help.
Some ground rules first:
1. No entries from Journey, Leo Sayer, or Sheena Easton will be considered. Ok, maybe Leo Sayer.
2. Please avoid submitting songs with explicit lyrics. Our bosses will get upset.
3. It has to have a good beat and you can dance to it. Or not.Thanks. And hey, keep on rockin'.
So head over: Vote early, and vote often. The man's discerning and has the best bumps in the biz, so you better choose something he likes, like Arcade Fire. Or Scissor Sisters. But, just a tip: Probably best not to mention Rufus Wainwright.
