Not done with the Black Key's solo LP? Neither is he. Dan Auerbach's run on the back of Keep It Hid's been strong, netting a slot on Conan and one at Lollapalooza, and now this clip for the gritty stomp of "Heartbroken, In Disrepair." The video's ultimately uneventful -- just Dan backed by his touring band, Hacienda, and a second drummer in My Morning Jacket's Patrick Hallahan -- but the kicking up dust in an arid Texan field, the rusted sunset, the bone-dry workingman feel bottle the song's vibe right. Anything more stylized would ring hollow; is the substance coloring the lens, or the other way? Doesn't matter, it's simple, but it works.
