Last night, Cloud Nothings played a packed Studio at Webster Hall, a small room that accentuated their strengths, making the band's bratty squall seem even huger, its frenzy crammed into a small opening. They didn't waver much from Album Of The Week Attack On Memory, only departing briefly for the last song which I didn't recognize (Help?). "Wasted Days," which I assumed would be the closer because it's such a pummeling, emotional force, showed up midset and was an easy choice for a highlight. There was no encore, but they didn't need one; the impression of a reformed, barb-ier new-look Cloud Nothings had been made. Philly garage rockers Bleeding Rainbow (formerly Reading Rainbow, here's their explanation for the name change) and electro rockers Jump Into The Gospel opened.
