Hercules And Love Affair – “Do You Feel The Same?”
Andy Butler’s New York disco-house project Hercules And Love Affair just announced plans to release album number three, following up 2011’s playful Blue Songs with a new one called The Feast Of The Broken Heart. The LP features a ton of guest singers, though the only one with much of a name is John Grant, who contributes to two tracks. (No Antony this time around, sadly.) In a press release, Butler says, “I wanted nasty basslines, stormy, bleary-eyed sounds, fiery, rough, tough and ragged old school house productions that sounded almost techno. I didn’t want polite, I wanted aggressive.” First single “Do You Feel The Same?” certainly qualifies; it’s a big, meaty, shameless jolt of early-’90s energy, and its bassline just kills. Belgian singer Gustaph comes through to diva-wail an impressive falsetto all over it. Listen to the song and check out the album’s tracklist below.
