Nai Harvest – “Ain’t That Enough” (Teenage Fanclub Cover) (Stereogum Premiere)
We recently named British duo Nai Harvest a Band To Watch on the strength of their tremendous Hold Open My Head EP, a winsome collection of densely harmonic and emotionally charged guitar pop. One of the bands that undoubtedly inspired the former emo zealots’ alt-rock evolution is Teenage Fanclub, so it only makes sense that Nai Harvest has covered “Ain’t That Enough” from Norman Blake and company’s 1997 release Songs From Northern Britain. The song will be released Friday as part of Art Is Hard’s Pizza Club singles series, which offers a free single every other Friday throughout 2014. Ilana Blumberg, sister to Daniel Blumberg (Hebronix, ex-Yuck) and backup vocalist on Yuck’s debut, lends harmonies to this immensely pleasant reading of an immensely pleasant tune. It sounds like sunlight and clear sky; ain’t that enough? Listen below.
The “Ain’t That Enough” single is out this Friday 3/28 via Art Is Hard. Three physical “pizza box” versions of the single will be on sale that day at 1 p.m. GMT (9 a.m. EDT) through the label shop.
