The former Oasis leader Noel Gallagher just announced the impending release of Chasing Yesterday, the second album from his de facto solo project Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. He also shared the big, expansive first single “In The Heat Of The Moment.” The B-side to that single is a new song called “Do The Damage.” It won’t appear on Chasing Yesterday, but it’s probably a better song than its A-side. It’s a tough, riff-happy space-rocker with some serious teeth to it. Gallagher himself says that the song “might be the 23rd best song I ever wrote.” Check it out below.

The “In The Heat Of The Moment” single is out 11/17 on Sour Mash, and Chasing Yesterday is out 3/2 on the same label.
