Pimp C – “Friends” (Feat. Nas & Juicy J)
Pimp C, the more flamboyant half of the legendary Texas rap duo UGK, died way back in 2007. But his widow Chinara Butler has put together Long Live The Pimp, a new posthumous album that will feature a whole lot of Pimp verses, alongside appearances from some of rap’s biggest names. We’ve already heard “3 Way Freak,” with Lil Wayne, and now Pitchfork has posted “Friends,” which features Nas (who has been rapping on a lot of Southern rap tracks lately) and Juicy J. The track sadly doesn’t have that brilliant old Pimp country-rap production, but it’s absolutely nuts hearing Nas and Juicy J, two guys who once occupied opposite ends of rap’s cultural spectrum, on the same track. Check it out below.
Long Live The Pimp is out 12/4 on Mass Appeal.
