Chairlift – “Romeo (Empress Of Remix)”

Brooklyn-based synth-pop duo Chairlift just released Empress Of's remix of "Romeo," one of the highlights from their recent album Moth. The remix begins with the original song’s introduction but is transformed by a light, synthetic rhythm that bounces and creates the illusory feeling that sounds are dancing around you. Wrapped in layered harmonies, the remix highlights singer Caroline Polacheck's clean, hypnotizing vocals. With the absence of the original's tangible, electrifying production and the inclusion of an effervescent new rhythm, Empress Of's reworking creates a brighter, more romantic feel. Listen below.
