Katy Morly, the Minneapolis-born, Los Angeles-based producer professionally known as Morly, premiered her new song “If Only Chords” at KCRW today. It’s the first single off her upcoming EP Something More Holy. Produced in collaboration with Stint, “If Only Chords” is a beautifully minimalistic track that utilizes expansive electronic elements to create a cosmic sound. Morly’s powerful voice carries and commands the song as she elegantly sings, “I beat my own heart.” As percussion trickles in and the bass lulls in and out, “If Only Chords” engulfs you in a wave of electrifying pop.
