Stream Beth Orton Kidsticks
The English singer-songwriter Beth Orton got her start singing on psychedelic Chemical Brothers dance tracks in the mid-’90s. After that, she went on to a career as a relatively conventional, but very good, folk-pop type. So it’s cool to see her experimenting, once again, with further-out sounds on her new album Kidsticks. Orton recorded the album with Andrew Hung, half of the psychedelic noise duo Fuck Buttons, and the album does weird, interesting things with her genuinely pretty songs. We’ve already posted “Moon” and “1973,” and right now you can hear the whole thing below, via NPR.
Kidsticks is out 5/27.
