Microwave – “Lighterless”
After signing to SideOneDummy Records last year, Atlanta punks Microwave quickly turned out a an impressive split 7″ with Head North. A little less than a year later, they have returned with “Lighterless,” presumably the first single from their as-yet-untitled new LP. With a chugging, driving bass line during the verses, a rousing pre-chorus, a thumping chorus that sees vocalist Nathan Hardy calling himself “the nemesis of fun,” and a haunting feedback-ridden outro, “Lighterless” makes me really regret missing Microwave’s opening slot during the Wonder Years’ No Closer To Heaven tour. Check it out below.
Microwave’s new LP is due out later this year on SideOneDummy Records.
