Watch Ed Sheeran Sing In Game Of Thrones‘ Season 7 Premiere
The human toe has made his way to Westeros.
Back in March, we learned that Ed Sheeran would be joining Sigur Rós and Mastodon as the latest musician to cameo on Game Of Thrones, and now that fateful day has finally arrived. On tonight’s season seven premiere, Sheeran played a traveling soldier who sang a little song that goes, “For hands of gold are always cold, but a woman’s hands are warm.” Arya Stark, who happened to be passing by, remarked, “That’s a pretty song. I’ve never heard it before,” to which Sheeran replied, “It’s a new one.”
In a recent interview with Billboard, Game Of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi discussed Sheeran’s appearance, explaining, “It’s pretty cool. He sings a piece that I wrote with lyrics that came from the book. It was kind of like [season 3’s ‘The Bear And The] Maiden Fair,’ where I went in and wrote melodies for lyrics from the book. Ed sings those lyrics and he’s great.”
