Watch The White Stripes’ Unearthed “Death Letter” Performance From 20 Years Ago This Week
The White Stripes’ sophomore album De Stijl is turning 20 later this week, and Third Man Records is celebrating the occasion with an extensive anniversary set that’s being released as part of their Vault Subscription series. The set includes previously unreleased and hard-to-find recordings from this era of the band and a DVD featuring videos of two shows from the De Stijl tour.
One of the shows highlighted took place at Jay’s Upstairs in Missoula, MT on 6/15/00, which was just a couple days and twenty years back ago. Today, Third Man Records has shared a newly unearthed clip from it of the two of them performing their take on Son House’s “Death Letter” that appears on De Stijl.
