Hayley Williams & Daniel James Launch New Project Power Snatch, Share Songs

Hayley Williams has been working with producer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel James since Paramore's 2017 album After Laughter, and they're just now launching Power Snatch, a new project that they've been quietly teasing since last year. This weekend, Williams and James are up for some Grammys for Ego Death At The Bachelorette Party, the solo album that Williams released last year. (James has credits on Williams' other solo records, as well, and last year Williams appeared on "Confessions," a single from James' project Night Party.) So this seems like a good time to put a few Power Snatch tracks out into the world.

On Apple Music 1, Williams and James recently appeared together and premiered a song called "Assignment." According to Far Out, a fragment of that song first appeared on a secret Power Snatch Instagram last July. You can hear a couple of pieces of it below.

No official version of "Assignment" is out there as of yet, but it turns out that Power Snatch also have a Bandcamp page. There's one song up on it right now, and it's not "Assignment." Instead, last month that page posted a single called "DMs." Good song! Check it out below.

Between "Assignment" and "DMs," it sure seems like Power Snatched might be an outlet for artier, more stream-of-consciousness music that might not fit the bill for either Paramore or Hayley Williams' solo records.
