Jehnny Beth – “Look At Me” (Feat. Mike Patton)

Former Savages leader Jehnny Beth and Faith No More/Mr. Bungle frontman Mike Patton are two tough, commanding, larger-than-life vocalists, and now they've joined forces on a blaring electro-rock single called "Look At Me." Beth released her solo album You Heartbreaker, You last year, and she just celebrated the 10th anniversary of Savages' Adore. Today, she releases "Look At Me," the new single that she recorded with Patton, who she calls one of her biggest influences.

"Look At Me" is not an XXXTentacion cover. It's a seething, bugged-out venting session with trap drum programming and dubstep drops. Patton delivers all his parts in his metallic squawk-growl voice. Per NME, Beth says that the song is "about the modern sellers of truth, who share their opinion online on how to 'better oneself,' giving an illusion of control — but all they really want is to be the center of attention."

Beth directed the "Look At Me" video, which has some seriously high production value and which was supposedly inspired by Taxi Driver, though I don't really see it. Patton is in there, with some crazy Coolio-looking braids. Check it out below.

The "Look At Me" single is out now on 20L07/Fiction. Patton just collaborated with the Avett Brothers on the album AVTT/PTTN last year, and his noise-rock supergroup Tomahawk will soon head out on tour, playing their first shows in 13 years.
