Real Lies – “A Land Beyond”

London duo Real Lies make incredibly cool and thoughtful electronic music, and they sound like absolutely nobody else. About a year ago, they released their album We Will Annihilate Our Enemies, and it absolutely rules. That record sounded great when it came out, and it's only grown in my estimation since then. Real Lies followed the LP with the non-album tracks "Let The Lips Fall Where They May" and "Rare Rapport," and those are good, too. Now, they've got another one.

The new song "A Land Beyond" is a fine example of what Real Lies do. It's got vocalist Kev Kharas murmuring emotionally about "a place where everything makes sense" over a pulsing, shimmering techno track that sounds like it was beamed directly from that imaginary place. Maybe this one didn't demand a place on We Will Annihilate Our Enemies, but it works just fine on its own. Listen below.

"A Land Beyond" is out now on TONAL.
