Imagine that someone took the fiery climax of a 20-minute Godspeed You! Black Emperor epic, the moment that the drama builds into a crashing crescendo of thundering guitars, and just made a song out of that. Imagine that they screamed over the whole thing. Imagine that they somehow reshaped that climax into a minute-45 hardcore song, with a breakdown and everything. That's how I hear the new song from LA screamo ragers Knumears.
Knumears, a trio that includes members of bands like vs self and Elm, will release their debut album Directions on Friday. The band recorded the LP with Deafheaven/Joyce Manor collaborator Jack Shirley, and we've already posted the early tracks "Fade Away" and "My Name." Today, they share one last song, which is untitled. Or maybe it's called "Untitled." I can never tell. Because "Untitled" is a title, you know? This is the type of dumb bullshit that you won't have to think about when you're actually listening to "Untitled," since the song is furious enough to push that foolishness out of your head.
