she's green, from Minneapolis, have a gauzy, dreamy sound that they call "moss music." I think that's cool. More bands should invent their own fake genres. If she's green hadn't done that, we'd just be calling them a shoegaze band, and that description would be reductive and a little inaccurate. They're definitely in the shoegaze zone, but there's some Cocteau Twins and maybe a little Helium in there, too.
she's green released their EP Chrysalis last year, and they followed it with a really cool single called "Mettle" earlier this year. Today, they announce another EP called Swallowtail. It'll come out this summer, after she's green play the Slide Away festival and open some of Chapterhouse's North American shows. "Mettle" is on the EP, and so is the softer, gooier new song "Paper Thin." Check it out below.
