"Go Fuck Urself," the new single from UK dance-punk types Fat Dog, doesn't sound the way that you might expect a song called "Go Fuck Urself" to sound. It's a bouncy, ecstatic synthpop jam with a huge singalong chorus, and I can imagine it becoming a highlight of a festival set. It's friendly. Maybe that's the ultimate disrespect — being told to go fuck yourself on a song that's going to get thousands of people singing along.
Since they released their debut album WOOF. in 2024, Fat Dog have released a couple of one-off singles, "Peace Song" and "Pray To That." We've also heard from side projects like ELLiS·D and Morgan Noise. Now, Fat Dog have a bunch of UK and Europe tour dates coming up, including shows opening for Foo Fighters and Kneecap, so it's a good time for another single.
Fat Dog frontman Joe Love co-produced "Go Fuck Urself" with Olivia Dean/Rachel Chinouriri collaborator Oli Bayston. Nine Screens, the team of Dylan Coates and Travis Barton, directed the "Go Fuck Yourself" video, and it's a pretty fun one. Love rocks a cowboy hat and a leather vest, and the band and some cheerleaders perform in a wrestling ring, while stand-ins for various pop stars look on in disapproval. Below, check out the clip and Fat Dog's upcoming tour dates:
