Ah, the four words that we all long to hear: Tom Morello solo album. The former Rage Against The Machine axe-wrecker remains the one Rage ex-member who's always busy and visible. Earlier this year, he organized an all-star Minneapolis benefit and joined the E Street Band for Bruce Springsteen's Land Of Hope & Dreams Tour. This fall, he'll headline his own one-off festival Power To The People outside DC. Somewhere in there, he'll also release a new LP called Everyone Gets Everything They Want.
Last month, Tom Morello shared "Adjourn It" a new song that features his 15-year-old son Roman Morello, along with System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian. That song is on Everyone Gets Everything They Want, and the record also has appearances from Kneecap and Beartooth. (Last year, Morello called Kneecap "the Rage Against The Machine of now," and the guy from Disturbed got mad about it.) Morello actually revealed his new album's title to Stereogum on Saturday.
The album's lead single is a rocker called "Date Night." As Morello says in that video above, the song "tells the true story of three Dutch teenage girls during World War II who seduced Nazi officers and murdered them in the woods." His aforementioned son Roman wrote the riff. Below, check out that song and the LP's tracklist.
