Told Slant's What's Up is out this Friday. Do not let its title fool you — there is nothing casual about these songs. "Manhattan" and "Draw Blood" are memorable, moving singles, but today's "Sailor" is a true tearjerker.
Felix Walworth says "Sailor" is "a sad song about the complicated question of whether or not we have agency in our lives." On Instagram, they add, "It's short and sweet and upsetting." Accurate! The acoustic ballad is full of devastating lyrics: "And I did not choose to leave you/ Even though I said goodbye/ And I do not choose to miss you/ But I will miss you for the rest of my life," they sing with resignation.
