The band comprises Ashley Yao and John Chao, a duo with infectious indie tendencies, a mutual love for Crowded House, and a press-ready story: The two grew up together in Taiwan, bumped into each other 15 years later in NYC, began dating, began making sweet music together. And soon they'll release Teardop Sweetheart, an LP ofpulling on precious, playskool soul 'n' r&b ("Delovely"), coolly affected electro/disco lazy day gems ("Weatherbees"), chipmunky chillout tracks ("Cruelist Heart"); and some good old-school shimmery-guitar indie pop ("Summersend").
