Denzel Curry has a new crew. Recently, the tireless Florida rap monster rounded up his peers Bktherula, TiaCorine, Key Nyata, and FERG (formerly A$AP Ferg) to form a collective called the Scythe. On Friday, the group will release their official debut Strictly 4 The Scythe. I have heard it, and it's exactly as much fun as you're hoping.
On Strictly 4 The Scythe, Denzel Curry and his comrades have rounded up more likeminded underground rap types to make a bunch of high-energy anthems. We've already heard the singles "Lit Effect" and "The Scythe," and now they've got another new one. On "Mutt That Bih," Curry teams up with his fellow Raider Klan veteran Key Nyata and with 1900Rugrat, an extremely silly ascendant West Palm Beach rapper who looks and sounds like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo if his life took some very different turns. Good song! Check out the Ramon Castellanos-directed video below.
Strictly 4 The Scythe is out 3/6 on Loma Vista.
