Last September, Los Angeleno singer-songwriter-producer Jordan Patterson shared her debut album The Hermit, a solid introduction to her soulful folk-pop. Evidently, that album caught the ears of Secretly Canadian, who are releasing Patterson's newly announced follow-up EP Songs From A Valley Girl. Its lead single "Just My Friend" is out today, a vivid, upbeat piano song about not being sure if someone wants to keep your relationship platonic or something more. I don't say this lightly, but it reminds me a bit of Fiona Apple in its ferocity. Listen below.
