Garrett Burke is a Philly-based percussionist and producer who's spent time on the kit in acts like of Montreal and Mothers. In 2023, he launched an experimental electronic project called Gloorp. Today, he's announcing his third album, Gloorp Life, to follow last year's Gloorp 'Em Up.
The lead "Jeggings" is out now, and it's somehow jagged and fluid at the same time. Despite the track title and the album artwork, it is not indie sleaze. Do not worry. About it, Burke says:
Every single one of the songs on this album is a collage of sounds and snippets that I created to perform at our live shows promoting Gloorp 'Em Up. As the year went on and we started playing longer sets, I needed more crap to put on the drum pad. When it came time to record, I had a lot of samples. A few different drum takes and one really good LPF later... we have "Jeggings"...
